Telecon: Corey Harper, Dan Eshom, Diane & Jon, August 7, 2007

Agenda & Notes:

  1. DCMI Issues:
    • Documentation contract: Where are we? What comes next? What are the implications for "Using Dublin Core"
      • Current website evaluation and document evaluation project should be finished by mid-Sept. Not clear whether Jon & Diane will bid for "Fixing" contract--depends on whether other ships come in. Diane not anxious to update "Using DC" until wiki is enabled.
    • Updates on DCMI-flavored grant proposals
      • Two proposals going to NSF INTEROP: one to bring legacy vocabularies onto the web, the other to build a community around the RDA Vocabularies.
  2. NSDL issues
    • How can we improve the visibility and usefulness of the NSDL Registry within the NSDL?
    • What happens to the Registry if we don't get funding?
    • Is there any opportunity coming up to engage the NSDL on the DC-Ed Application Profile? What are the implications for the nsdl_dc schema?
  3. Singapore
    • Who will be there? What are the opportunities for furthering discussion?
  4. Other issues:
    • Reports on the Open Registries Forum? Any issues need follow up?
